Personality:

The way Nah behaves shows a sort of contradiction between how she tries to come off as and how she’d like to be perceived. See, in the sort of environment Nah grew up in, she came to believe that no one would want her around if she didn't contribute somehow and help out others. In this aspect she's a very selfless and mature person, looking out for other people while training and studying to be more independent. In this aspect she’s also a child yearning for attention, having come to the conclusion that if she doesn’t make herself useful then nobody will care about her.

The truth is, Nah isn't the adult she'd like others to believe she is. With the way things were in that doomed timeline she came from, she couldn’t afford to live out her childhood as a child. She learned to become self-sufficient from an early age, fighting Risen (zombie monsters) and helping wherever else she could, hoping that acting as a sort of protector would earn other people's trust and affection (it didn’t work, the family she lived with never did like her, but she still continued to try nonetheless). She didn’t have time to sit and cry when there were so many other things that had to be done. Nah forced herself to grow up faster and as a result tends to act like a childish adult, or an adult-like child. She certainly suffered, but she grew and learned from her hardships, and consequently tried to mature beyond her apparent years without ever learning how to be… normal. Plus, being a mere baby in a dragon lifespan kind of throws things off. In one conversation with Morgan, Nah reluctantly admits that she’s psychologically younger than humans her age because of her slower growth rate. It shows, too, in her occasionally childish behavior and ignorance regarding some basic social nuances (she once asks Tiki if they can swim in a public fountain).

She typically tries to keep her emotions reined in and hides her heart from her sleeve the best she can. But she’s far from a jaded, stoic soldier; she shrieks in fear, yells when she gets frustrated, makes childish threats, and giggles like any other kid in her interactions with other characters. She believes that she must appear strong because it's only appropriate for someone of her Manakete heritage, and because of the dangerous circumstances she lived in. With her mother, Nowi, and fellow time-traveling future kid, Cynthia, Nah's mature side shines brightest; she lectures her own mother and tells her that she should be training instead of playing around, and acts as a straight man to Cynthia’s zany antics. With the majority of the rest of the cast, however, she’s not nearly as serious. For example, with her father, Nah stubbornly pesters him over and over again until his patience reaches the end of his rope. In fact, most of her relationships usually start off with Nah being a nuisance to the other party until they later somehow reach an understanding and Nah stops being annoying. Sort of. It’s played off as something to laugh at, but it also demonstrates that Nah is clearly not as cool and collected as she would try to have people believe. Despite all her stern words about taking the war seriously and being dutiful to her studies, she does plenty of ridiculous things on her own in her free time.

She's quick to toss accusations and lash out whenever her age is brought up in any negative way, her physical appearance (along with her weird name) being a bit of a sore topic and the butt of a few jokes. She usually won't hesitate to correct people when they assume she's a child, since she dislikes being patronized and wants others to take her seriously. However, her declarations of how cute she is may also be one way she attempts to endear herself to people, since the only other ways she knew how to were by fighting off monsters or doing chores.

The way she was ostracized by the family she grew up with probably explains why she can act downright clingy towards those who befriend her. From what she says of her childhood, she apparently didn't get much socialization with other humans and basically had no friends. Nah typically means no ill will since getting on people's bad sides is the last thing she would ever want— she's just a bit too enthusiastic about getting close to others to the point where she'll declare herself as someone’s little sister (it happened, it was weird). In one conversation with Lucina, Nah states that she had always tried to be grown-up and self-sufficient, which is why she doesn’t like it when people treat her as a child. But she still is a child— by Manakete years, anyway— so she does enjoy being doted on and hanging onto others’ backs now and then, such as when she says she likes it when Lucina looks out for her like a big sister, and when she decides to stick to Brady like a limpet after he saves her from drowning in two feet of water.

She’s got a strange knack for adapting to situations and reading people, since she actually is pretty decent at adjusting her behavior accordingly to how others would react despite her moments of social clumsiness. In her support with Gerome, she pesters and harasses him in order to befriend him and justifies her behavior by reasoning that simply trying to talk to him like a normal person wouldn’t work, since he’s so cold and would just ignore her. And it turns out she was right, go figure. With Owain, on the other hand, who’s much more sociable and receptive to weird behavior, Nah is completely straight-faced and claims she doesn’t enjoy horsing around when Owain tries to play a game with her. She tends to contradict herself between these different situations, but ultimately, Nah is just a child struggling to be an adult, caught between the relatively short lifespan of a human and the lasting millennia of Manakete. It really depends. She can be an old fogey towards one person and an annoying kid at another.

Although she was pushed away by the people she grew up with for being half-human, Nah has immense pride in her mixed blood. She's more than eager to learn about her heritage and never expresses any bitterness over being a hybrid. In fact, she often refers to herself as a plain Manakete instead of half and half. Instead of wallowing around and lamenting her difficult life, she tries her best to be strong and useful for everyone’s sake, including her own. Nah’s determination is her strength. She comes from a group of time-traveling orphans fighting for a better world, so that strength is something all of them have in common.

Inventory:

— 1 dragonstone
— 1 elixir
— her mother’s wedding ring

Abilities:

Nah is half Manakete, which means she can transform into a dragon with the use of a dragonstone. She can fly, breathe fire, bite things, step on things, typical dragon stuff. While her dragon form is formidable, she isn't invincible; regular weapons can chip away at her, while certain metals (Wyrmslayers, in the game) can cut right through her scales. In her human form she’s just a small person with an unusually acute sense of smell. She claims she can smell a person’s intentions.

The in-game battle animations suggests she uses ice breath, but in dialogue she only talks about her fire breath. It's a bit unclear, but some Manakete are able to use different elemental breaths, so she likely has both. Her mother is implied to have that capability (in the Japanese script she says she breathes ice but also refers to burning things), so Nah probably inherited it from her. For the most part she'll be using fire and very rarely ice.

If she remains transformed too long she’ll lose her mind and go feral. Conversely, if she doesn’t transform to blow off steam every now and then, her temperament will become more violent and she risks going berserk. The latter is theorized to be owed to her hybrid status, but the former is true for all Manakete.

She’s also capable of learning how to fight with other weapons and magic tomes. It’s all optional for her, but the capability is still there.

Flaws:

Stubbornness; while she sees this as one of her strengths, her overbearing persistence tends to get on other people’s nerves or gets her into trouble.
Tryhard; to put in a lack of better words. Nah sometimes tries too hard with how she wants to prove her worth. Her mother is concerned about Nah’s conscious efforts to hide her feelings and refusal to take time off to relax. Nah still is a child in Manakete years.
Destructive; mentioned in the abilities section, she sometimes gets the urge to go rampage. she typically blows off steam by obliterating forests and sees nothing wrong with this as long as she makes sure no one else is around to get caught in the blazes. Of course, environmental concerns are nonexistent in a medieval Europe-inspired fantasy world, and these are instincts she didn’t ask to be born with, but Nah is still a bit too nonchalant about her destructive rampaging since she isn’t hurting people, only trees (and whatever unfortunate animals happen to live in those forests). It’s just the best and most convenient outlet for her, as far as she’s concerned.
